Music, Food, and Dance Enhances Nursing Home Residents Lives at The Gardens at York Terrace

The Gardens at York Terrace hosted 13 beautiful Filipino dancers, who performed for residents this month. The performers also served delicious ethnic Filipino food for the residents to enjoy.

In addition, each week on Wednesday through Hospice Compassus, the residents of The Gardens at York Terrace enjoy soothing harp music, played by Lynne. The music sessions take place during meal time in the dining room so residents benefit from a calm dining experience.

The Gardens at York Terrace is a five-star rated nursing home serving Pottsville and the surrounding area since 1965, and is a proud recipient of the 2015 American Health Care Association Silver Award.

The facility is nestled in a wooded, five-acre property in the Pocono Mountains, and large windows in each room provide a lovely view of the nature that surrounds us. The ranch-style building is complete with a spacious front porch and its courtyard has plenty of room for residents to garden, or just enjoy the outdoors. With just 80 beds, The Gardens at York Terrace is small enough to provide a great family atmosphere for long term residents. They also offer short term rehabilitation, hospice, and respite care.
